Beginning this Sunday at time zero, the Republic of Argentina will be literally divided in two different times, what crazy no?. From presidential decree provides for two different time zones for the country-all twelve provinces of the country's west will have one hour-different from the rest of Argentina from Sunday next to zero.
NO CHANGE: the provinces of Catamarca, La Rioja, Mendoza, Salta, San Juan, San Luis, La Pampa, Neuquén, Black River, Chubut, Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands. SI CHANGE: Jujuy, Formosa, Chaco, Tucumán, Santiago del Estero, Misiones, Corrientes, Entre Rios, Cordoba, Santa Fe, Buenos Aires and the Federal Capital. The change will last until March 15, 2009.
(starting at zero next Sunday, on the other 11 provinces and the City of Buenos Aires will have the clocks ahead one hour and therefore be in time zone 2 hours west of Greenwich Mean Time). 
For the holidays when some are already several ciders "up", others will be uncorking the bottle, I still insist totally insane! ...
