Argentina Police have arrested the father of actor Mariano Martínez in a case investigated a drug ring allegedly linked ephedrine with Mexico's Sinaloa cartel, sources said that security force.
Ricardo Martinez was arrested in a bar in the neighborhood of Montserrat, in downtown Buenos Aires, by order of Judge Federico Faggionatto Marquez, who is carrying out investigations.
"Ricky" Martinez came under investigation days ago, when a witness testified that the employer was a provider of ephedrine pharmaceutical Sebastián Forza, whose body was found last August by the side of a road along with two other youths.
According to the witness, ephedrine was provided by Martinez destined for a clandestine laboratory discovered by police last July in an operation in which they were arrested nine Mexicans and one Argentine.
The owner of this laboratory course is the Mexican Jesus Martinez Espinoza, arrested recently in Paraguay and pending extradition to Argentina.
Faggionatto Judge Marquez has indicated that there were contacts between the organization allegedly led by Martínez Espinoza and entrepreneurs Forza, Damian Ferron and Leopoldo Bina, whose bullet-riddled bodies appeared on August 13de in a field on the outskirts of Buenos Aires.
With the arrest of Martinez added 20 of those arrested for this cause.
Experts agree that Argentina has become "fertile ground" for the entry of substances used in the production of synthetic drugs, because of the flexibility of the law to import chemicals for the pharmaceutical sector and the low control over routes
